Olimpia Milano Official App: the Sport Digital Transformation has just begun

Olimpia Milano is a basketball sports club founded in 1936.
It is the most successful team in Italy and one of the most successful in Europe. Among the many trophies, it boasts 28 league titles, 6 Italian Cups, 3 European Cups, as well as 2 Korać Cups and an Intercontinental Cup. It is the only Italian team to have won, at least once, any type of official competition.
Since 2004 Giorgio Armani has acquired the company, with the aim of consolidating the club’s brand identity and continuing to write glorious pages in the history of the most successful club in the peninsula. The project asserted itself after 10 years, in 2014, when the Milanese club won the Scudetto and stopped one step away from the Euroleague Final Four. Continuing the project to enhance the company, today Olimpia is today among the most important clubs in Europe and continues to be a protagonist in Italian basketball.
Olimpia Milano has decided to focus on digital transformation, relying on the strategic, technological and graphic consultancy of IQUII, with the aim of designing a new digital ecosystem for the red and white company, aimed at strengthening the Fan Experience and strengthening the relationship with partner.
From the collaboration of the club with IQUII, Official Technology Partner, the Olimpia Milano Official App was born, the mobile touchpoint based on the SportXP platform that allows fans to have at their disposal – and in a single solution – all the information and services affecting the club and its favorites.
The mobile platform was developed to allow Olimpia fans to easily access all the services dedicated to the fan and to allow the club to manage Ticketing, eCommerce and Content Management on a single integrated platform.
The Sport Platform, by centralizing all the information scattered on the different touchpoints of the brand, allows the club to activate increasingly targeted and custom marketing strategies, developed on a data-driven approach, and to offer a personalized service to each fan.
Taking the user’s perspective, through the Olimpia Milano Official App it is possible to follow the live match of all the Red Shoes matches, both in the league and in the Euroleague, through the personalized commentary created by the club. Furthermore, the fan can consult the calendar of the races and the standings always updated, buy tickets for the races and the official merchandise, as well as being able to stay up to date on the Olimpia world, through news and exclusive media content. The user can also customize their whatsapp chats and photos with official stickers and the Fancam within the app.
A further design step will lead to the integration of Fanize, the Loyalty and Fan Engagement platform developed by IQUII, which aims to make fans an active part of their favorite club, through engaging gamification mechanics such as:
