A new way to offer fans a continuously updated digital touchpoint to live a seamless experience between physical and digital dimensions

OVERVIEW

The 80th edition of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia are organized by the Federazione Italia Tennis e Padel (FITP) in joint venture with Sport e Salute SpA.

The Master 1000 is held inside the Foro Italico Park, in one of the most evocative locations on the entire international circuit, where the greatest ATP and WTA circuits’ players compete in the last tournament before the second Slam of the season at Roland Garros in France.

CHALLENGE

Now in its eighth year of collaboration, IQUII and FITP set out to raise the level of digital audience engagement even higher through the functionality of the official Internazionali BNL d’Italia app, whose UI has been updated in line with the Tournament’s new visual identity.

The Official App aims to:

  • revolutionize the fan experience by digitally bringing the tournament to fans, allowing the live experience to be enhanced through digital touchpoints;
  • continue the database enrichment journey begun since 2016;
  • offer exclusive tournament entertainment and backstage content to the public.

PROJECT 1/3

The features on the platform aim to inform users, actively engage them in initiatives designed for them, and support them in a range of activities that can improve and enhance their Fan Experience.

Information for users is provided through:

  • news;
  • multimedia content;
  • scheduling of trainings and matches;
  • results and live scoring.

PROJECT 2/3

IBI23 Official App is designed to engage users through the ability to:

  • watch the IBI TV schedule live;
  • virtually access the event backstage via the Action Cam;
  • bookmark athletes to follow and customize notifications received;
  • capture moments through the Fancam and personalize memories with specially created IBI23 stickers;
  • virtually follow one’s favorite athlete, receiving constant updates and news about meetings and training appointments before matches.

The app is designed according to a data-driven logic that collects useful data to have a profiled user base, leveraging information collected through surveys and quizzes and in-app user behaviors.

PROJECT 3/3

The official app of Internazionali BNL d’Italia 23 facilitates and simplifies the Fan Experience for users by enhancing their physical experience with digitally supported features:

  • Pick & Pay: allows users to purchase food and drinks from kiosks in the vilage via the app, taking advantage of priority lines to pick up their order directly at the stands;
  • Passbook: allows users to download their event access ticket directly within their app and streamline the public entry processes.

RESULTS

Past editions, the performance of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia Official App shows user appreciation and digital success in actively engaging people before, during and after events.

EVOLUTION

As we approach the upcoming #IBI24, the app will be a one-stop shop for staying up-to-date on the world of great tennis, offering fans exclusive news in the run-up to the new edition of the tournament.
